Deadpool makes a splash in the MCU and kills heroes like Spider-Man and Captain America in this new fan poster with a high body count.

Deadpool joins the MCU and kills heroes like Spider-Man and Captain America in this new fan poster. For years, Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson operated outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to Fox’s ownership of the character. However, when Disney purchased Fox, Marvel Studios was granted the opportunity to bring the X-Men and adjacent characters (such as. yes, Deadpool) into the MCU. While Marvel’s plans for the X-Men are unclear, a major update regarding the Deadpool franchise arrived yesterday: Deadpool 3 will be set in the MCU. The project has been in development for a while now, with the script currently being written.

Even though Deadpool 3 isn’t expected to begin filming until 2022 at the earliest, the confirmation that the movie will take place within the MCU (and will still be rated R!) has ignited fan excitement. Wade’s fourth wall-breaking humor makes him perfectly suited to be a sudden MCU transplant, and Reynolds has already poked fun at the news. For the time being, plot details remain under wraps, so it isn’t yet clear whether Deadpool will interact with any current MCU characters.

Of course, based on this new fan poster from spdrmnkyxxiii, perhaps it would be better if Wade stayed away from the MCU’s heroes. Titled Deadpool Kills the MCU, the poster sees Wade posing among the dead bodies of characters like Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man. Interestingly enough, all of the characters included in the terrifying body count have actually died at some point in the MCU, save for Captain America. Check it out below.

Deadpool’s anti-hero tendencies might actually position him as the kind of person who would actually kill heroes, and perhaps there’s a potential story there. Imagine Deadpool’s MCU entrance seeing him accept a job to kill the Avengers. That would certainly be quite the introduction. Of course, at this point everything is speculation. By the time Deadpool 3 is released, the MCU might look very, very different.

In fact, much of the characters in the above poster either have already left the MCU or might be gone by the time Deadpool 3 comes out. Iron Man and Captain America made their exits in Avengers: Endgame, and characters like Vision, Black Widow, and Gamora are slated for at least one more project, but their futures beyond that are uncertain. Doctor Strange and Spider-Man will hopefully still be around, which would surely please fans who want to see Deadpool and Spider-Man team up on the big screen. Only time will tell what the MCU has in store for everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed mercenary.
